I will be leaving for the Army National Guard's boot camp on May 23, and after nine and a half weeks of waking up at four in the morning and doing push-ups until eleven o'clock at night, I will be continuing on to AIT (Job Training) until December 8.
It is an undeniable fact that I will be dropping completely off the grid from May 23 to August 10 - I will be in Boot Camp for that period, and there will not be any recreational internet access during that time.
However, there is a chance I may be able to get online regularly during AIT. I'm told that it is relatively similar to college life, so I'll almost definitely be able to have my laptop with me, and if I'm lucky I'll be able to find internet access, if I don't have it in my quarters to start with. So there is a decent chance that I will be able to get online regularly from August 10 to December 8. If I am unable to get online during AIT, then I will be returning on December 8, but I'm daring to get my hopes up, because I'm told that AIT will allow a much more relaxed lifestyle than Boot Camp.
I did have a good time cementing myself in here, so rest assured I will be back when I regain internet access; I'm not disappearing. But I do need to let you know that I'll be gone for a while, starting in about a month and a week, on May 23.

Ah! You posted on here as well!
I already replied to the one on Wonderments Astray...so I suppose I'll reiterate what I said there.
I understand completely--my step-brother and close friend have both joined the military, and had to go to boot camp as well. I know that boot camp's very strict--I could hardly speak to either of them while they were there.
I won't say goodbye just yet, nor will I bore you to tears with a long, extravagent post detailing how much we will all miss you, and all that mushy stuff...I'll wait 'till May for that. XD
Be afraid...be very afraid!

I'm already stressed out, and am trying to hunt down anyone who can advise me from experience what it's like, and how to cope, being gay in boot camp and the military in general. I probably shouldn't be so worried, but still.
And thanks for the affection. I was wondering how people would react, given that I'm still fairly new here. I feel bad about the FF roleplay, though, since it just started... I hope we can work out a way to keep it going. Maybe I can lend out my character. Or give him away. T_T

*cheers* Don't worry Ikken my brother is a marine; just do what you can as best as you can and ask for help if you don't get it *grins*
Ya have my support for it! I know you can do it; and if we have to we can rely on your DRoP's character's shyness to make him a shadow in the roleplay.

Hah, I guess it was a good idea to make him like that, then.

And the clock keeps ticking...
Soon, you will be demanded to participate in physically excrutiating activities! Must be stoked. XD

THEE MORE DAYS, MAN! Then you'll be off to the military! It's time for that cheesy goodbye post I was warning you about...
While we haven't had that much time to get to know each other, the time we did have showed me how much of a great, intelligent person you are. While I may have been disappointing to you when it came to smarts, I can undoubtedly say that the posts I have read from you always contained a small nouget of enlightenment--even in your most random of posts! I always enjoyed hearing from you, and I will be sad to no longer see you posting as much as before; however, I know this what you want to do, and I respect you all the more for it. I wish you the best of luck, and am--in a weird forum-member-to-forum-member way--proud to know that you are committing yourself to a great service for our country. (Wow, I am not used to talking about America that way...XD)
So, cheers, old chap, and I can't wait to see you again. *raises a toast*
P.S. Since I'm not original enough to write a completely new post on Wonderments Astray, I simply copied this one onto that board. XD

But you said the same thing on Wonderments Astray, but backwards... Which one did you write first and which did you copy? *paradoxfindmuck* o.O

HAHA! I knew that would mess with your mind! And because I'm infinitely cruel, I will not give you the answer! BWAHAHAHAHA!
